2026 Visual Cues

Please find photos and visual cues for the Baltimore Convention Center. All of AWP’s sessions and bookfair will take place in this building, with the exception of the AWP Program Directors’ Plenary Assembly and the Writing Organization Council Meeting. These will both take place at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel.

AWP’s main entrance is on the east side of the Baltimore Convention Center at Charles Street Lobby at the corner of South Charles Street and West Pratt Street. This photo was taken on Charles Street.

This is a photo taken outside of the Charles Street Lobby on Charles Street, near the corner of South Charles Street and West Pratt Street. A flat beige cement courtyard leads up to three sets of sliding glass doors.

This is a photo of the Charles Street Lobby entrance taken from West Pratt Street.

The photo is taken from West Pratt Street and so the Charles Street Lobby is down a slope and the sliding glass entrance doors are to the right.

If you are taking a rideshare to this entrance, it’s better to enter “S Charles Street and W Pratt Street” and to tell your driver to pull onto Charles Street next to the Baltimore Convention Center. The photo below is taken from the Charles Street Lobby Entrance and shows the road where you can be dropped off closest to the entrance. This is a quieter road with a cut-out and should allow attendees to comfortably and safely load or unload from a rideshare.

While the Charles Street Lobby entrance off of Charles Street is AWP’s main entrance to the Baltimore Convention Center, there is another entrance off of West Pratt Street that AWP will designate as exit-only. These sets of doors can be accessed by stairs or by a ramp.

Level 200 is simply a mezzanine level with no events taking place here. Please proceed to Level 300 for regular session rooms and to Level 400 for featured events and the Keynote Address.

To access Level 300 from Charles Street Lobby by elevator, take the elevator nearest the entrance to Hall A and take it to 300. To access Level 400 from there, please proceed approximately 350 feet down the Level 300 hallway. Near Room 327, there is an elevator to Level 400.

A wide hallway is pictured with a set of escalators at the end that lead to Level 300.

At the top of the escalators on Level 300, there is a lobby area that will have food & beverage options, in addition to a variety of seating options, including rounds with standard chairs and soft seating.

Behind the lobby area is a hallway where all regular session rooms are located, meeting rooms 301-329. This particular photo is taken mid-hallway and is facing toward room 310.

Please find a video of the main terrace.

This is an example of a typical meeting room at the Baltimore Convention Center, though AWP will have these rooms set differently and there will be no risers or staging for the head tables. Please note all Level 300 meeting rooms use LED light.

In all AWP meeting rooms, there will be seats reserved for those with accessibility needs, in addition to wheelchair spaces left at the front and back.
