Registration FAQ


Q: What will an in-person registration include? An in-person registration to #AWP27 includes admission to all events, readings, panel discussions, meetings, the bookfair, and public receptions over the days of the conference, Thursday, March 17, through Saturday, March 20, 2027. All in-person registrations also include access to the virtual conference, except Saturday-only registrations. Meals, lodging, and travel are not included.
Q: Will I be able to attend #AWP27 virtually? Yes! In Chicago for the in-person conference and looking for more? Can’t make it but want to be involved? Tune in from wherever you are with a virtual registration!
Q: How do I find my registration information? You can view/edit your registration information in the Attendee Service Center.
Q: If I can’t afford a registration, are there any other options? If the registration cost is presenting a barrier to you participating in the conference, you can choose to participate in the AWP Work-Exchange Program or apply for an AWP Conference Community Scholarship. The AWP Work-Exchange Program provides a free in-person registration to participants in exchange for four hours of volunteering during the conference. More information about the #AWP27 Work-Exchange Program will be available in fall 2026. The AWP Conference Community Scholarship is a program aimed at increasing access to the AWP Conference & Bookfair for attendees of color, attendees with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ attendees, and attendees who are low-income. Q: How do I access hotel and travel information? Hotel and travel information will be available to all registered attendees on August 31, 2026. Attendees must be registered for #AWP27 to access hotel information after that date. Log in to the Attendee Service Center to view this information.
Q: How do I register my large group? Select the “Add another attendee” button when registering an extra person, or use the Group Registration Form to purchase registrations in bulk.
Q: I purchased a registration but I can’t attend. Can I get a refund? Unfortunately, as stated in our Attendee Terms & Conditions that were signed at the time of purchase, we are not able to offer refunds. However, you have a few options. You can keep your current registration and attend virtually, you can transfer your registration to another attendee provided that they have an AWP account and are eligible for your registration type (e.g., student registrations may only be transferred to another student, senior registrations may only be transferred to another senior, etc.). Or, donate the cost of your registration to our AWP Conference Community Scholarship program, which provides free registration for scholarship recipients. To transfer, visit the Attendee Service Center and select the “View your registration” link on the Welcome page, then select the arrow button that appears to the right of your name. This will take you back through the form where you’ll enter the information of the person you’re transferring your registration to. Be sure to complete every step of the form. Once the information has been updated and the form submitted, the person you’re transferring to will receive a confirmation email. You may still see the registration in the service center on your account, but it will indicate a transfer has been completed. Please note that AWP does not keep a list of potential attendees to transfer to. To donate, visit the Attendee Service Center and select the “Registration Edit & Add-ons” link on the Welcome page, then select the donate/cancellation button that appears to the right of your name. This will allow you to remove the registration from your account, donate the cost to the AWP Conference Community Scholarship program, and opt out of daily conference emails.
