Individual Agent Consultations
Meet with a literary agent face-to-face at #AWP27! This opportunity includes a 25-minute one-on-one meeting with an experienced literary agent who can answer your burning questions and offer advice on manuscripts, query letters, seeking representation, publishing industry trends, and more.
One-on-one consultations are great for writers who are ready to start querying agents, and who want some more customized information on the process or their approach, or who are seeking specific advice on their work or project.
These consultations are designed for conversation and professional guidance, not for formally pitching your work or seeking representation from participating agents.
Please note:
- All meetings will take place during #AWP27 in Chicago, Illinois, at McCormick Place Lakeside Center, and only registered in-person attendees are eligible to participate.
- Meeting times are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability.
- Participating writers will be matched with an agent to meet with, and writers cannot request to meet with a specific agent.
- Agents will not be able to read work from participating writers in advance. However, if you’d like an agent to review a writing sample and provide brief feedback, you can elect to have them do so within your 25-minute meeting time.
- Meeting with an agent does not constitute a partnership or relationship or establish representation on behalf of the agency.
- Participation in this program is nonrefundable and nontransferable.
