Conjuring Home: Women of Color on Exile, Borders & Belonging
What does it mean to make a home in a world shaped by displacement? These writers tell stories about immigration, exile, colonization, and family rupture, while still reaching for hope, joy, and wholeness. Our writing travels across borders—literal and imagined—asking, How do we build home when land, memory, and language have been taken or lost? We’ll address the complexities of writing through contradictions—grief, beauty, rage, and tenderness—while celebrating diasporic voices in American literature.
